                                “As a daughter, sister & wife she was dutiful and affectionate, highly esteemed by her friends who much lament her loss.

                                                Her disconsolate parent with the consent of her husband has erected this tomb to perpetuate her memory.

burial ground of the Church in Kingsessing, Philadelphia County.

            Mrs. Susan M. Gapper a native of England, but for many years a resident of Philadelphia.  She died July 31st 1838 aged 82 years.  

                                “Remarkable for vigor of intellect and a highly cultivated mind her religious faith was founded upon conviction.

                                A full believer in the truths of the Gospel, she derived from them support under severe trials here and rested upon them all her hopes hereafter.

                                The gratitude of one who during a long series of years received from her many benefits, has caused this monument to be erected to her memory.”

                                  He was eminently distinguished for the classical and theological learning, his fervent piety and the possession of every moral virtue

                                  Which could adorn and dignify the character of the Divine, the Gentleman, & the Christian.
